3" Artisan Latigo "New Standard" Strop
Not Currently Scheduled
My Latigo strops are not currently scheduled. It would be at least mid June before I will be back in the shop cutting leather again.
My Artisan models are my best strops and these are made from my 7oz to 8oz firm temper Heirloom Red Latigo Steerhide with either Smooth Cotton or Smooth Black Nylon (Standard), Hard Wool Felt (+10.00), Genuine Linen (+ $16.00) or Smooth Butt Horsehide (not available +$49.00) second components.
These have contrasting Black Latigo end caps and two simple Dee Ring Grips as standard or a pair of optional Contoured Black Latigo Leather Handles (+ $10.00). 29" overall with a superwide 3" x 17 1/2" stropping surface. Wide strops like these have become the "new standard" over the narrower, more traditional designs as no X-pattern is needed when stropping. Full stropping instructions are included.
The Latigo offers a well rounded stropping surface as one's only strop and has a bit more draw (friction) than horsehide which is nicely suited for finishing or as a second strop.
An inexpensive, "second quality" 2 1/2" x 19" Practice Strop with a thong/bead hanger is available as an $8.00 option with this model.
These will not be in production again till at least mid-June, possibly longer.
